The name may be misleading, but I am actually a guy.

One of my strong beliefs as well as a tenet of my religion is the equality of men and women. As such, I didn't see any reason for my wife to give up her name to marry me. She wanted the same name as me, so we decided to hyphenate our last names together. The fact that my last name precedes hers is arbitrary, and mostly based on the fact that it sounds better in that order.
