Hello and welcome to Wikipedia!
Here are some tips to help you get started:
- Try the Tutorial, and feel free to experiment in the test area.
- If you need help, post a question at the Help Desk
- Eventually, you might want to read the Manual of Style and Policies and Guidelines.
- Remember Wikipedia:Neutral point of view
- Explore, be bold in editing pages, and, most importantly, have fun!
Good luck!
P.S. One last helpful hint. To sign your posts like I did above (on talk pages, for example) use the '~' symbol. To insert just your name, type ~~~ (3 tildes), or, to insert your name and timestamp, use ~~~~ (4 tildes).
Hi. I noticed your User Name is very similar to about 13 others I've seen. Given that you're a student, and most of the similar User Names are editting articles about similar topics, I am guessing you're all working on some sort of class project? Do you know how many people are in the project, and whether they are all editting with registered User Names? The articles are really interesting, and really improve Wikipedia's coverage of Chinese journalists (at least that seems to be the common theme of the articles). Thus, I'm assuming the 'j' in "BJ" on your user page stands for journalism, but am not sure on the 'b', unless it's to indicate a bachelor's degree program. On Wikipedia:School and university projects I found class projects for UHK "FOSS0001: Media in Contemporary China", and "YJMS0001: You've Got Mail", but the assignment lists on the main page and at User:YJMS0001/assignments don't seem to include any of the articles I've seen from the 0101___ users. (If you're curious, Dai Qing was the first one I ran into--I mostly decided to leave a note at your Talk page because you were the only one that had put anything on their User page.) Anyway, I'd like to second Meelar's welcome. Feel free to respond on my Talk page. Niteowlneils 02:44, 7 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- PS I did finally find your assignment, which answered some of my questions. Niteowlneils 03:55, 7 Oct 2004 (UTC)
