Since google turns up a large number of unrelated articles, it doesn't appear very notable. Could be vanity for the sole DJ mentioned that seems to work in this genre. Radiant! 10:47, Feb 23, 2005 (UTC)

- KEEP ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?!?!?!?! lets see, Florida is where "breaks" style electro originated, Its considered the center of that genre's scene. I guess musicians like DJ Icey, Huda Hudia, Baby Anne, Tony Faline (thats just a FEW of the big names), all of which make a good living djing it should just give it up cause its not notable. Not to mention the multiple compilations of the "Florida Breaks" series Vol 1. here (which I might add is up to volume 11 at the moment even if Amazon doesnt sell them all). Then theres the Mixmag cds titled "Florida Breaks". The FLORIDA BREAKS ROOM at Ultra Music Festival every year (which runs along with one of the largest DJ/Electronic oriented conventions the Winter Music Conference). Then theres its mention on Ishkur's Guide to Electronic Music (which is considered damn near the bible as far as genre typing goes even if it is tongue in cheek). Perhaps if you googled its alternate name you'd be convinced. Funky Breaks Results 1 - 100 of about 744,000 for Funky Breaks. Not to mention this is what Big beat evolved from. So I guess its ok to mention that subject in a total vacuum.... gotcha </sarcasm> ALKIVAR™

- Well, if you would add that to the article, it would be a lot better. Not everybody knew that 'funky breaks' was a synonym. Sometimes bad or stubby articles get nominated because they make the subject look unencyclopedic; this situation is easily remedied by expanding the article, at which point the nomination is (usually) withdrawn or voted down. - Strong Keep this is one of those "what the heck?" nominations. Though I'm sure not everyone has heard of it, it's a valid and pretty well-known club genre. - Funky breaks and Florida breaks are the same genre, "Florida breaks" is an alternative term used to describe funky breaks music produced in Florida where the genre originated. ALKIVAR™ 15:54, 24 Feb 2005 (UTC)
