Untitled
[edit]It's very nice to see that an article on Wand has been added, but now I'm confused about the correct spelling of his first name. I'm pretty sure there ought to be an umlaut over the "u", but now I have no idea if the second syllable should be "ter" or "ther". - Dmetric
- The Penguin Dictionary of Music gives him without an H, so I've taken it out the article (didn't notice it was there before). --Camembert

Positions
[edit]The box does not cite Wand as having occupied a formal position either at the Gürzenich or Cologne Radio Symphony. Is that right?
Also the sentence "In 1974, he left Cologne to conduct the WDR" looks weird to me since the WDR (West German Radio) is based in Cologne. S.Camus 08:26, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
The sentence in the article 'In 1948, he also started teaching conducting at a music school in Cologne.' could be simplified to 'In 1948 he taught conducting in Cologne.'≈≈≈≈ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Richard Wynne-Jones (talk • contribs) 04:12, 12 April 2020 (UTC)
The opening sentence 'In February 1924, aged 12, Wand attended a performance of Der Zigeunerbaron at the Thalia Theatre in Wuppertal-Elberfeld, and was so entranced he decided to become a conductor.' could be re-written thus; 'At the age of 12, in February 1924, Wand attended a performance of Der Zigeunerbaron at the Thalia Theatre in Wuppertal-Elberfeld. He was so entranced by this experience he decided to become an orchestral conductor'Richard Wynne-Jones (talk) 04:46, 12 April 2020 (UTC)
