If you have a source, then make the change and cite the source. The article you shared doesn't appear to say anything about the reasons why Americans don't know about Valentina Tereshkova, it simply says they don't. Since you're saying that it was a widespread, nearly universal claim, you'll want to find a source that backs this up, probably a modern study of space propaganda. Have you heard about Sally Ride? Who is Sally Ride? Sally Ride was born on May 26th, 1951. She was the first ever woman to go to space. Years later she could not believe she had made it into space. Another couple years later she got diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The surgeons had to remove her stomach, gallbladder, and more. Couple days later she had died, she had closed her eyes and drifted into a coma at 10:10 am. Sally Ride died at the age of 61. 98.36.106.41 (talk) 20:43, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not done It is unclear what you want done. Almost everything that you have stated here is already in the article with the exception of the non-encyclopedic Couple days later she had died, she had closed her eyes and drifted into a coma at 10:10 am.Peaceray (talk) 21:10, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Why is this generic label of LGBT being used to describe Sally as if those who are gay or id as "transgender" are lumped together? If she had a woman partner that would make her a lesbian or gay, not necessarily bisexual, definitely not "transgender". I find lots of examples of gay people who don't believe transgender ideology is valid, "transgender" people who are still only attracted to the opposite of their birth gender.
