Acronyms?

[edit]

This is a good article, but when were the term and acronym coined, and by who? Mr. Jones 13:26, 20 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Possible additions for this article?

[edit]

What plants is ideal for controlled environments?

[edit]

It would be nice if someone would list and explain what plants would be the best for a particular purpose, such as which plants is ideal for maximum CO to O2 conversion, which is ideal for waste treatments, food production, et. al.

Methods of growing plants in a controlled environment.

[edit]

An entry, possibly expanded, on the methodologies of plant growing in a controlled environment would be a good addition to this section. Example, hydroponic growing, soil based growing, etc..

Confused

[edit]

Most of the way though this article it talks about a "closed" system in the sense that no matter moves in or out of the system, then suddenly switches to defining a closed system where matter and energy do not move in or out of the system -- the only kind of closed system where entropy cannot decrease. --76.194.210.77 (talk) 19:43, 22 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, "The life of such a system is limited, as the entropy of a closed system can only increase with time." - this is misleading, since there is obviously an energy flow in any plausible CELSS. This error does crop up in various literature (Adams, Georgescu-Roegen, early Rifkin) and should not be spread. This section needs a rewrite. Anders Sandberg (talk) 17:46, 6 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
