In the need to Globalize JSA

As an ex student of Professor E.A. Rogers at the Montezuma Mountain School for Boys, in Los Gatos, California, (in 1952) I learned to appreciate the globalization spirit of "Prof Rogers", As I am Mexican, and didn´t spoke English, he started to teach me English by speaking in Esperanto (similar to Latin & Spanish) a language that would become global) and his multi-religious spirit in the Sunday meetings in his multidenominational school (I was Catholic and had to go, in his orders, to Sunday Mass to the nearby Alma College which was a seminar).

As part of my formation I attended the JSA meetings there, and learned to appreciate its formative qualities, in learning to think fast (a forgotten art in our modern schools), listening abilities, oratory arts, debate techniques, etc.

I believe that the Globalization of JSA, would be appreciated by Prof Rogers, and might lead to a better understanding among countries, to promote peace, and tolerance among all.

I would like to get some JSA material (computer readeble versions)and translate them into Spanish, as well as this article, to promote its introduction into Spanish speaking countries.

Repeated edits incorporating copyrighted material

A number of editors have "reverted" this article a several times to include material cut-and-pasted from the JSA website that had been previously removed. Not only is that a potential copyright violation, the resulting version of the article becomes less consistent with the Manual of Style, violates WP:NPOV, and reads more like advertising or self-promotion. To those editors I would ask that they please make revisions that are consistent with WP policies and guidelines and that are not potential violations of copyright. FHA doesn't exist?

According to Future Homemakers of America, the organisation's name was changed in 1999. Knowing absolutely nothing about these American organisations, could someone confirm these are indeed refer to the same thing and change the name here if appropriate Nil Einne 09:07, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Notable alumni

There should be, if the can be verifiable reliable sources references that a notable individual who already has an article was a former member of JSA, then there is no reason why a list cannot be started. Chapters

Recently an other editor created a new section regarding a new chapter at a High School. It was supported by a non-reliable source webpage, that falls under WP:SPS.

There are dozens if not hundreds of chapters that are older, and maybe more notable. However, if there is going to be a section about chapters, perhaps we should discuss whether a section should be included, the criterea for addition, and how the list should be set up. It could be in a table format, or a bullet point list, divided by which JSA State they exist in. If it is in a table format, it could be sortable, or not, and perhaps we should discuss what columns of information should be created in the table. --RightCowLeftCoast (talk) 09:15, 26 November 2009 (UTC)

That same information was introduced to several other articles, as well, and the editor also created a page for it which is presently up for deletion. I don't think there's a particular drive to reference notable chapters at this time.--otherlleft 17:07, 4 December 2009 (UTC)

I can see if a chapter is independently notable that it should have a mention in a chapter section, rather than having its own article. --RightCowLeftCoast (talk) 01:06, 5 December 2009 (UTC)

The tax increase to $5 is correct, as the Council of Governors voted to raise it in order to update Debateware and other such things, effective the 2013-2014 school year. 67.140.68.18 (talk) 20:37, 20 August 2013 (UTC)

Name Correction

I was a member of the JSA, in 1952, and if I remember correctly it was called the JUNIOR STATEMEN OF AMERICA, and it is not a State, but a society of Statemen (young Statemen): From dictionary: A statesman or stateswoman or statesperson is usually a politician or other notable figure of state who has had a long and respected career in politics at the national and international level. As a term of respect, it is usually left to supporters or commentators to use the term. When politicians retire, they are often referred to as elder statesmen.

Statespersonship also conveys a quality of leadership that organically brings people together and of eldership, a spirit of caring for others and for the whole. MX==AGS== --Dagofloreswi (talk) 03:01, 1 May 2010 (UTC)
