ARCHIVE OF TALK: THE REN AND STIMPY SHOW UP UNTIL JULY 15, 2006
This article does not have a neutral point of view. This needs to be corrected. Damir H.
There's not enough info here about the "new" version... --Furrykef 15:23, 10 Jun 2004 (UTC)
- Darn. Isn't that a shame. ;) Cigarette
Hello. I've recently been fired up to add my wealth of Ren and Stimpy knowldege to make this page absoutly complete. I've also enlisted the help of the biggest Ren and Stimpy message board online (motlos.com) to come and help me make this complete.
I'm starting with the episode summaries and am going through those in great detail adding absoutly everything I know about the series (which is a lot.) Additionally, i've already added a LOT of information to this main page as well. Although, i've added most of it anonmously before I created this wikipedia account. - --TheNewX 09:31, 25 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Hey - whoever put the character names in bold, thanks! I didn't like them in italics, but I didn't feel it was my thing to change. The bold looks much better. This page just keeps getting better and better... -- Thesmokingmonkey 01JUL05
- Ren and Stimpy fans - I've gone out on a bit of a limb and made Mr. Horse and Powdered Toast Man pages. I didn't want to ramble on about these two in the main article, so I gave them their own pages. The other day, someone put Mr. Horse's page up for deletion, and I'm wondering if anyone here would rally to my defense. I did a quick search on some other cartoons (South Park, Looney Tunes) and minor characters from those franchises have their own pages...I guess I just need some feedback. If the Horse and Toast pages are a bad idea, or poorly done, or should be merged with the main article, let me know. --thesmokingmonkey 10JUL05
I hope somebody reads these, else I'm just batting around ideas with myself! *ahem* I was checking out the Homestar Runner site, and I think they have the right idea - there's a seperate article devoted to just the characters from the cartoon, no matter how obscure or insignificant. If people are interested in transferring this article's character section to a seperate article, where hacks like me can go on and on about what it is that Powdered Toast Man has done, well, I think it just might work. Comments? Questions? 'Cause I may just be crazy enough to do it. --thesmokingmonkey 10JUL05
- Unfortunitely, it seems as if someone erased those links and the entries that led to them. -_- Why? Who knows. Thanks to whoever went and deleted those and the links to those pages for no reason. -_- And thanks to this person for marking seperate articles for deletion and then taking matters into their own hands with no rhyme or reason as to why they did that. You ruined someones work, and their attempt to help add information to the wikipedia. Thanks a lot. If this deletion and nitpicking people's attempts to help out with this continues, i'm going to remove my detailed episode summaries that I wrote for the Wikipedia and keep them for myself to add to my own personal webpage. This is a project to help add a comprehensive list of knowledge of the Ren and Stimpy series onto the wikipedia. But I don't think i'm wrong in thinking that deleting other Character specific related articles entirely, and REMOVING helpful information rather than bothering to provide it, isn't what the wikipedia is all about. It's just people ruining and nitpicking, and trashing the efforts of what the people that help on the wikipedia is SUPPOSED to stand for. And if that's what this irrational trashing and deleting of whole articles is going to boil down to, then I don't want my information that i've provided as a PUBLIC SERVICE to fans and the contributions of others to be mocked in such a fashion. If that's how it's going to be, I'll remove my own writing from here entirely as well. --TheNewX 19:32, 10 July 2005 (UTC)
TheNewX -- Hey, I think I've cleared up the confusion on my end. Apparantly, someone made a Mr. Horse page in FEBRUARY, so when I re-created it, the 'delete' vote was still there. Well, you live, you learn. But I agree with you - I don't like irrational trashing, either. All we need is a little coordination and effort here - this page has the potential of some other cartoon-based pages I've seen. I've made a seperate characters page that includes Mr.Horse and Powdered Toast Man, and hopefully I'll add some others soon. Perhaps it's strength in numbers (as in all the characters in one in-depth article, as opposed to one seperate article for all of them) that will keep our articles out of the deletion target. Good luck with the episode guide, and I'll keep working on the new characters page. -- thesmokingmonkey 11JUL05
TheNewX -- Oh, man, now I see what you mean. Some dude just came in and tried to wipe out my entire Characters page! My Characters page! VIOLATED! STEEEEEEEMPY! Yeah, now I'm totally confused again - why can't we have a seperate characters page? Homestar Runner does. South Park does. The Simpsons has one, too...I restored the page, but how long will it last? Shouldn't we have more info than less? -- Smoking furiously, thesmokingmonkey 11JUL05 (ten minutes later)
One episode in particular that was only made availiable on VHS implied that Ren and Stimpy might actually be lovers.
-Can we have more information on this somewhere? (Either under 'relationship' or the videotape section) Joygerhardt 21:22, 11 September 2005 (UTC)
- I think this paragraph probably refers to the Svën Höek or the Son of Stimpy episode. I'm not sure, but it's probably the latter (the former actually suggested that Stimpy and Ren's idiot cousin were lovers). (Ibaranoff24 05:00, 4 November 2005 (UTC))
"You eediot!" Where's the article?
Where did this article go? It's just a redirect mess now. --jh51681 07:59, 5 December 2005 (UTC)
Ah, there it is. --jh51681 08:20, 5 December 2005 (UTC)

- That first section of "unaired" episodes were episodes that were storyboarded, but never made. The Adult Party Cartoon episodes "Stimpy's Pregnant," "Naked Beach Frenzy," and "Altruists" were made, but never aired. "Life Sucks" refers to an idea John K. had but never made as an episode. I'm not sure if he storyboarded that one. (Ibaranoff24 01:06, 14 February 2006 (UTC))
Stimpy's Invention Title music
This may be an unappropriate place to ask, but at the title screen of 'Stimpy's Invention', What is title and composer of the backround music that's playing? I know i've heard it before and it's driving me crazy! I've uploaded a rip of it here: Unknown Music (Hosted By echoshard.com) --Wallaby 23:25, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
When John K Was Fired, Why Didn't He Take R&S With Him?
The article mentions the conflict between John K and Nickelodeon, but doesn't say why Nickelodeon could just fire him and keep R&S. Does anyone know about that?
- Kricfalusi sold Nickelodeon the characters. They owned them, not him. However, he was able to take George Liquor along with him, because Nickelodeon did not own that character, unlike Ren & Stimpy. (Ibaranoff24 01:04, 14 February 2006 (UTC))
R&S CD
Several years ago I got this cd for my birthday for Ren & Stimpy that was like a musical of their journeys after winning a radio station from a contest. Anyone with it think they could put the songs on here?
End has been chopped off
The end has evidently been chopped off. interwiki have been restored, but it has no cats and the last sentence of prose doesn't actually finish. 81.2.95.202 01:45, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

Ren and Stimpy's sexuality
I just want to say that whoever said that John K. said that Ren and Stimpy are gay in some cartoons, and straight in others, was right. John K. stated that in a thread he started at MOTLOS (and, FYI, on MOTLOS, John K.'s user name is spumko) called "John answers your questions about the new eps", but that thread doesn't seem to exist anymore. John K.'s exact statement was "We were completely flabbergasted by the few negative reactions. No one complained in the original series at the gay jokes. I mean, they are fag in some episodes, straight in others. They are cartoon characters. They can be anything we want them to be for the gag." Please alter this entry to state this fact.- John Pannozzi, April 22, 2006
- Done. I also changed the sentence which states that the characters "supposedly" have anal sex in the Adult Party Cartoon episode. John K. couldn't have made it any more obvious than he did in that episode. (Ibaranoff24 00:55, 23 April 2006 (UTC))
Controversy
I think the "History & controversy" section should be divided so that most of the information is clear. (Plainnym 21:40, 5 June 2006 (UTC))
The show creator
I heard the show's creator is Canadian. Can anyone verify this? Mr. C.C. 20:45, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
Vandalism
Quite a lot of vandalism on this page - I may have reverted only part of it. Someone who knows about the topic might want to check the revision history. --Grace 13:02, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
- Vandals sure love to fuck up this article, don't they? (Ibaranoff24 19:28, 15 July 2006 (UTC))
