Talk:Shabbos
I have removed the content from this article, and I think it should be deleted. here is the content
- Shabbos (Yinglish for Sabbath, Saturday) is the seventh day of the week. Yidden (Religious Jews) don't do any work on Shabbos. Work is defined as one of the thirty nine melachos (constructive work) enumerated by Halacha.
- Yidden treat the whole week as a prelude to Shabbos, but truly start to feel the onset of Shabbos on Erev Shabbos (Friday). Friday is the day that they must make certain that all the preparations for Shabbos are taken care of, because they cannot(Yinglish for forbidden by the Torah) do any work on Shabbos.
We have an article on the Sabbath. Whatever useful information is in the above article should be incorporated into that article. It is certainly important in the article on the Sabbath to have a section the Jewish Sabbath. However, let me point out that there are many religious and shomer shabbos Jews who dod not call themselves yidden. Slrubenstein
May I make a point? Many of the wikipedians are not Jewish. We appreciate a sincere explanantion of Jewish ethics, issues, and culture, but many of these articles submitted don't explain anything to us!
If I, a Lutheran Christian and Semitophile, can't follow the articles, then what of the Hindu or Buddhist who is trying to learn?

These articles are in Yinglish they are not yet complete, when they are complete, they will be more properly understandable. When enough context is given, and the articles are fleshed out they will be more even handed. The treatment of these subjects in the rest of wikipedia is aimed at people with a university background. These articles are aimed at somebody with a Yinglish background, but intended to be understandable by others with some work. Wikipedia does encourage different languages. Ezra Wax
- Sorry Ezra, but you are wrong. Wikipedia does have links to wikipedias in other languages, so go ahead and creat a Ynglish wikipedia if you want. But this is an English wikipedia and we expect all articles to be in English -- believe me, some non-native English authors have had their work very very heavily edited. Write your articles in English, and expect them to be edited heavily if not. In any event, the little useful content of this article simply should be incorporated into another article (the Sabbath).
