Wiktionary message

[edit]

How does this article deserve a Wiktionary message?? It is a significant article as a part of Greek numerical prefixes. 66.245.100.146 01:32, 23 Aug 2004 (UTC)

  • It's a dictionary article about a word, not an encyclopaedia article about a person/place/concept/thing. There's nothing here that Wiktionary:di- doesn't have; there's nothing that can be here that cannot be at Wiktionary:di-; and Wiktionary:di- has a lot that this hasn't. Greek numerical prefixes should, at the very least, link to the Wiktionary articles. See Talk:Greek numerical prefixes. Uncle G 00:27, 2005 Mar 28 (UTC)
    • Wikipedia has plenty of articles on words, and nobody has bothered them; see Category:English words. Georgia guy 00:33, 28 Mar 2005 (UTC)
      • False reasoning. Those articles aren't analogous to this one. Picking an example at random from that category: Cot-caught merger is about a thing, the "Cot-caught merger". It isn't about a word. This article is a dictionary article about a word: "di-". And it doesn't belong. WP:WINAD. Uncle G 01:51, 2005 Mar 28 (UTC)
        • This must rank second only to U.S.-centrism on what Wikipedians complain about being in Wikipedia. Can anyone try to find the complete top 10 things Wikipedians complain about?? Please put the answer here:
  1. U.S.-centrism
  2. Articles simply on words
