from VfD:
Article gives no reason for notability, badly spelt. It's not a game that defined a genre or anything. And, from the quick research I've done, the article's description of the game as a 2D shooter has nothing to do with the real thing. [maestro] 09:39, 3 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- This link suggests the article is faulty. Let's send this to a computer gaming project for further investigation before voting. [[User:MacGyverMagic|Mgm|(talk)]] 09:58, Dec 3, 2004 (UTC)
- I remember playing this game (the one which MacGyver linked to) but I have no idea if it was notable or not. The entry about it on Underdogs indicates that it was unnotable but I leave it to someone who knows more about old (it's not that old) computer games to decide. Jeltz 10:35, 2004 Dec 3 (UTC)
- Comment: there could be an article about Windows flight simulator games that this could be merged into. --[[User:Tony Sidaway|Tony Sidaway|Talk]] 13:15, 3 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Delete: One of the many problems with an article per videogame is that they're not that important to begin with. Another is the fact that external links fail. Another is that they tend to fail NPOV. Not a notable game. Was it popular? Well, sort of. Was it a genre-defining game? No. Was it Bard's Tale? No. Geogre 15:16, 3 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Delete. Unremarkable game, utterly wrong article. At the time this came out, I wrote (briefly) for Future Publishing on several of their lesser computer magazines; F-22 Raptor was one of several games based around the F-22 and the Joint Strike Fighter which came out at around that time. DiD's 'F-22 ADF' was the star of the bunch, whilst F-22 Raptor was an anonymous also-ran. It had photographically-textured terrain, but only a limited view distance, and lacked the character and entertainment value of the same company's Comanche: Maximum Overkill and Delta Force, which both used a voxel engine. There was a sequel and a threequel, confusingly called F-22 Lightning III, because the aeroplane itself was eventually not called Raptor. -Ashley Pomeroy 17:50, 3 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- correct facts and Merge to somewhere like List of PC Flight Simulators? I remember (and actually liked) this game. It may not have been outstanding or notable - although it was endorsed by Lockheed Martin, which seems unusual - but it was a solid arcade flight simulator with a very accessible online component. We don't need separate articles for every game, but we ought to be a repository of memory - this ought to go somewhere. Key45 22:55, 6 Dec 2004 (UTC)

- Cleanup. Wikipedia's mission is to provide a free source of 'the sum total of all human knowledge'. Nowhere in that do I read a POV notability standard. The article is in need of a serious cleanup I agree, but deletion is not the answer. --Cynical 11:19, 29 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit]According to Mobygames[1] this was released in 1997, not 1998. Which is correct? 2fort5r (talk) 21:21, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
