[edit]I wasn't able to find a source for the following paragraph but the abstract of this article mentions similar things can someone with access to the full article check if it does contain the information mentioned in the paragraph.

The pantropical spotted dolphin varies significantly in size and coloration throughout its range. The most significant division is between coastal and pelagic varieties. The coastal form is larger and more spotted. (These two forms have been divided into subspecies only in eastern Pacific populations). Ziglin (talk) 20:51, 11 April 2024 (UTC)
