Prussian statistics
[edit]I don t understand the Prussian statistics, while I should PaulDehaye 10:21, 14 Apr 2005 (UTC)
I concur, the Prussian numbers don't make any sense to me. -- Scott eiπ 08:35, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
Diomedes
[edit]What about Diomedes, devoured by his own antropophagous mares? (cf Herakles)
Can it be called accidental? :-p
Statistics
[edit]I don't get this section either. What is it saying? Or trying to say? Stevage 13:56, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
- ===Statistics===
It has long been recognized that the incidence of horse accidents is statistically predictable. Ladislaus Bortkiewicz examined data from records of 10 Prussian army corps over 20 years. He demonstrated that the 91 deaths from the kick of a horse followed a statistical pattern known as the Poisson distribution.
Number of deaths per army corps per annum |
Death by kick of horse frequency of occurrence |
---|---|
0 | 109 |
1 | 65 |
2 | 22 |
3 | 3 |
4 | 1 |
Question -- I'm interested in adding a chronological list of horse racing accidents
[edit]Question -- I'm interested in adding a chronological list of horse racing accidents (which lists the number of horses injured or killed) -- is it appropriate for this page or should it be on a separate page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rowena1999 (talk • contribs) 19:50, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

Toy Horses
[edit]Can a fall off a toy horse be considered a horse accident? Thats how Louis, Duke of Burgundy (1751–1761) died.--Queen Elizabeth II's Little Spy (talk) 17:07, 27 November 2010 (UTC)
- Probably not, it's a toy accident. Sort of like how a kid falling off a toboggan isn't having a snowmobile accident. Montanabw(talk) 19:40, 27 November 2010 (UTC)
add Seleucus II Callinicus?
[edit]The good man also died from falling off a horse (see Justin 27.3.12). It has also been established in his own Wiki page (see last paragraph) Ninjason (talk) 09:40, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
